Great neighborhood library. They have excellent nonprofit resources as well and a really friendly staff.
The Security guard harassed me for leaving my service dog outside! He asked me if my highly trained service dog was a pet! As if service dogs are not also pets! I left her tied outside because I was harassed when I brought her in previously....the man is an ass.
As a child it offered the only escape I had from a difficult life. I would walk 11 blocks two and three times a week to check out as many books as I was allowed. It was there I found "Nobody's Boy", and found a narrative I could identify with. It seemed as if every child I knew had a happy home life but me. And the time spent in this haven was my salvation. Almost 60 years ago. I am so grateful.
